I know this was discussed previously, but I can't seem to find the
related posts.
How does the OM to EOS adaptor work (with regards to the aperture)?
Is it sort of manual aperture? As in the aperture is always
closed/opened at the current aperture setting?
What is the best way to focus with it? Open it all the way up, then
close it down to what you want just before you shoot the photo?

No, just the usual Levels, some cropping and USM applied.

It's a generic OM-EOS adapter and should work on the 1Ds. I tried the
adapter on a borrowed Elan 7e prior to purchasing the 300D and it worked
fine on the Elan. Order info at the gallery URL above.

From everything I've read I think I'd like the E-1 very much. The 300D
was
a better fit for my budget :)
