Andrew,

A mate of mine had a possum family in his roof and had to get rid of them.
His method: Get into the roof area where they are, lay a trail of apple
peelings from their spot to their entry hole and the outside. When they exit
(probably best to do this at night) close up their access.

Photo content: In the late seventies in a B&W group I was in we had a lady
in her late sixties who used to sit in a hide and shoot possums (with a
N*kon). She won comp after comp with the resulting pictures. Now, tell me
Andrew, just how agile are you...

Regards,
John.

Envy the Racoons - we have Brushtail Possums - they are heavier, live
IN the roof and while they don't carry rabies (unknown here thank
gawd but the big fruit bats carry a related lyssavirus) they aren't
bright enough to get tame. Very noisy though and the babe rides
cutely on the back when it leaves the pouch. Sitting watching TV the
other afternoon (World Cup Rugby) and got wet when one peed in the
ceiling and it ran down through the lining boards. Now the wife
insists I move them out. How? Reason with them?
How serious is the rabies problem?
Andrew
