You might try a Tamron SP 24-48 f3.5-3.8 instead. Results are fine, it goes
wider, and I think that the quality is better. Can be difficult to find the
lenshood and the lenscap if they do not come with the lens. I normally use
it as my standard lens, if there is enough light.

The 35-70/80 range has been discussed here, so I have a handle on those.
Does anyone have experience with the 28-48? I've looked at the data on
Gary's site. Anyone have field experience as to performance and build
quality? Is this really a "cheaper" Zuiko zoom ("S-Zuiko"), or is it just
good value?

I'm much not into long zooms, though I do have a cheap "Tokina Special"
70-150 which, for the money I spent (got it from Cambridge, I believe),
it's not bad at all. Couple with my 100 f2.8 and 300 f4.5, I'm covered on
mid to long lenses. A wide-to-normal zoom would be handy at times, though
I wouldn't expect it to match primes.
