True only in Super FP mode. In Normal and Manual Modes, it acts like a

manual. The OM-4(T(i)) manuals also have useful info on the use of the
F280 in Super FP mode.
Interestingly, the new Nikon flash for the D2H has FP mode, the hot new
thing? Now if more cameras offered multiple spot metering.
