Hi,
i set up an list archive system, since i didn't find any online (i.e.,
for mails past 2000) and no one pointed me/others to one when asked
about it. i don't think any of the great threads on this list should be
lost!
currently the archives are still in a test phase. they are processed
every hour, as long as it doesn't eat up too many resources on the
server; i'd then switch it to once a day. i'll just observe in the next
few weeks. also, if the archives eat way too much bandwidth, i'll have
to think about another solution (thanks to http://www.tako.de/ for the
bandwidth! :) )
at the moment i only have the archives from august 2003 up (those are
almost 10k mails!), since we switched hdds on a server. i might hook up
one of the old disks somewhen to add mails from end of 2001 somewhen (i
think that's when i first subscribed.)
