The only problem I ever had with SS reels is that I got what looked like
overexposed edges on the sproket sides of the film. It wasn't the light seals
as slides turned out fine. I never figured out if they were "contaminated" or
if it was because I wasn't pre-soaking. These rells belonged to the
University, and after I found out what was happening, I just bought a set for
myself. Either way I have never had a problem since.
