I have friends who have one of the aquariumized Macs. Only big enough
for small fish

My first computer was a used Apple II+. I got it cheap 'cause a guy
couldn't get it to run his business software. A little research found
that it 'checked' memory by write/read testing during boot and set the
amount of memory at the next lowest chip boundary - without any message
at all about the amount it found. Replacing a bad memory chip brought it
back up to a full 64k. Never could get the 132 column card working quite
right, but one could do real spreadsheet work on it, quite amazing at
the time.

When the first Macs (now aquaria) came out, they had a promotion where
one could take one home for a day or 2. It came with no useful software,
so I couldn't find anything to do with it except keep paper from blowing
away, so I took it back. What with MSDOS on my XT at work (10meg HD!!)
and some rather powerful and useful mainframe tools available, I just
didn't want to have to keep another system in my head, so I built up a
PC clone for home. Now, no blandishment would get me on a Mac as long as
I significantly supplement my retirement income doing software
improvements/maintenance on PC only stuff for my old employer. I think
software is more important than hardware/OS in many ways. I'd use
whatever gets the job done best (and easiest!).

No Mac attacks since the kids got big enough to buy their own food and
feed themselves - don't eat 'em my self.
