Yes, for those who haven't worked with PS (especially) computing power is
an important factor and disk storage is an issue for anyone working with
image files but especially if he's the kind who doesn't regularly clean up
afterward "the mess." I tend to fall into the old "slob" department there
and so periodically I must clean up the accumulated garbage files.

My current system is an Athlon 1900+ with 1.5 GB RAM and the pig that
Photoshop is seems to find use for every bit of my system's potential. I
also have two hard drives in order ensure enough temporary storage space
for those indefinite periods between my hard-drive "housecleanings" of
unwanted PS files.

The system's over years old now and about ready for replacement. I don't
know what the rest of you people use but I think it's a fair bet that
anyone who uses PS seriously is in pretty much the same boat as I am. For
all practical purposes my computer is still sufficient for what PS needs to
operate but I'd guess I'm on the fringe somewhere with regard to
cutting-edge gaming (my graphics card is a GeForce 2 w64MB. Looking at v8
of PS I wonder, though, if a system upgrade won't be good thing. Guess I'll
find out after (if) I buy the new PS.

Does anyone know if PS CS (v8) runs more piggishly still?
