Thanks Bill, Tris, Tom, and Skip:

I'm looking into the support network online for extra info and I'll be
calling Polaroid next. What is disturbing to me is that there is an
official question space on the Polaroid website that is actually a
black hole. You can ask all you like, there is no answer.

Worse, they just posted that the SprintScan would not work with Mac OS
X 10.3 but done so in such vague terms that it is nearly meaningless
(Yup, I use a Mac).

I value the scanner as it does have a reputation for extracting a lot
of information from 35mm film and it is otherwise in like new
condition. I also read it did a nice job with black and white
emulsions, which to me is very interesting. So when I finally sign up
for my first photo class and something acceptable comes out of a roll,
I do wish to be able to post a few scans for critiques!
