Looks good except for the indicated flaws. I like that he's right up front
about them and includes a good picture. The front element on fisheyes is
large and thick, and there is paint applied to the back sides and 'edges' to
control flare. From the pictures, my judgement is that these 'flaws' will
have minimal impact on the lens's usability. It might offer a lower price,
although its over my budget already <sigh>.

On the front element of my 8/2.8 lens there were lots of little 'dimples' in
the black, which upon disassembly I determined are underneath the paint
which covers the backside of the element. I don't think they would have any
effect on pictures since they are outside the normal path of light rays for
images anyway. The fix is to strip and repaint the element, which I will do
someday. My 24-Shift had similar little whiteish dots (which did -not- look
like fungus even under high magnification) but when returned from element
replacement and CLA at Olympus Japan the background of the front element
looks like black velvet, a pool of darkness you can just about fall into...

Periodic List Plea:

I am -still- looking for the rearmost element groups for the Zuiko 8/2.8 and
16/3.5 fisheye lenses. In the lens diagrams these are the elements located
rearmost (nearest to the mount) of each lens. I have complete (except for
these elements) lenses, and I hope to fix them someday... Substantial
finders fee ($$$) offered to anyone pointing me to success in getting these
elements or a 'parts' lens. Since I need the rear elements, a lens with a
cracked, broken, or missing front element is fine for my use, just so long
as that critical element group is fungus-free (which was the problem with my
lenses).

Thank you for your attention to this Periodic List Plea. We now return to
our regularly scheduled list banter...
