Hi Stephen and Earl:

I own the C-5060WZ. I love this little camera. The wide angle lens realy
make my friends with N*k**s and F*ji similar cameras drop their jaws when
they can fit, lets say, a room in a shot without resorting to a wide angle
adapter. I went to shop for a friend's Coolpix(N*k*n) and I took my 5060
along. When he tried the $200+ wide angle adapter and then looked with my
wide angle, he did not buy the lens. It was about the same as my camera and
not enough to make it worth it.
The dual storage, xD plus CompactFlash, gives you a good deal of storage to
just take the camera along for day shoots. The camera writes to the cards in
about the same ammount of time, probably 1 or less of a second faster at the
xD. Having the zuikoholic bug that mutates and adapts to all my imaging
playground, I have lots of cards to take along....just in case. I find
myself not using the extra ones unless I take a lot of RAW pictures.
The quality of the lens is great and the MACRO capabilities makes this baby
worth  your penies. You can check some of my pictures with it at;

My only complaint, and it is the same for other manufacturers' cameras in
this category, is the lack of ability to focus "the lens" for subjective
focusing. You have to "dial in" your focus and then hold it....bad if your
eyesight is not good. The auto focus is bearable when it comes to speed
focusing. I find myself using the auto focus a lot. This reason, plus my
hunger for more camera stuff, is making me get an E-1, most likely, or a
Canon 10D. Still deciding.

In terms of buttons, menus and dials, you can get used to it. The ones that
take you to the "most used settings" are quite nicely placed so it becomes
second nature to you very quickly. You can also save, if I remember well
now, 4 preffered settings at the click of a button.

The camera also supports a lot of different qualities, JPEG, TIFF and RAW.
The batteries tend to last a lot. I still have not gone through half the
charge of one in one day.

Tthe grip is very comfortable and it really sticks to your fingers. The
first thing other photographers with digicams notice is the weight..."wow,
how light" followed by the up and down arm motion with the camera...

The viewfinder is bright but also crops more than enough. I guess it is a
feature for the regular joe wo wants to take snaps of his family at the
picnic. I find myself using the LCD a lot. It is not the size of a C*n*n 1DX
but works for me.

I hope this adds something.

peace

David
