As John H commented the other day when someone was looking for an OM-2
wind shaft... it has to come from a donor body since new parts are not
available.

If the 2sp's circuit fails you have no alternative but to get another
functioning or parts body. I think new 4T circuits are still available
but that can't go on for long. I think the LCD displays on all of the
electronic cameras are also an achilles heel. Somewhere (probably on
this list) I've heard that the expected life of the display is something
like 15 years. If that's true, I think all of the 2sp's are living on
borrowed time since the last new production was 1988.

An interesting question to me is whether the display life is shortened
by environmental exposure independent of whether it's ever powered on.
If not, you could likely find a low usage body and chug on for awhile.
Otherwise... well, otherwise get an OM-1n or OM-2n I suppose.

However, as John H commented the other day when someone was looking for
an OM-2 wind shaft, even there it has to come from a donor body since
new parts are not available. The wind shaft, at least, is something
that wears predictably according to usage.

I'll keep the two 2sp's going as long as I can and when they fail I'll
still have my original OM-1 and my OM-2n (which has already been
resurrected from the dead once already with a new circuit).

intringuided by this OM, tho various comments about
  reliability/repairability are a concern.
