I've been playing more fun and games with my 2200, and have been
getting some beautiful results with it. I was reading on Ethan
Hansen's site (Dry Creek Photo) about what papers he likes for the
2200 and I have bought two new papers, a matte and a luster that I
feel are really exceptional.
The matte is Epson Velvet Fine Art. Hansen says it is his one of his
favorite papers, and from the results I get with it, I can see why.
100% cotton rag, acid-free, with a heavy. museum quality weight to
it, and a slight textured finish. This paper really delivers on the
color, though, and with indirect daylight, colors just about pop off
the paper. It also holds details very well for a matte textured
paper, but is not something to use if you need tack sharp, small
details. I've seen some black and white prints made with it, though,
and they are truly impressive. It is very expensive at 20 sheets for
$69.95, but for that special print, it can't be beat.
The luster is InkJetArt MIcroceramic Luster. I just printed a photo I
took last week of the City (see link here:

and it came out absolutely stunning with this paper; this paper is
superior to Epson Premium Lustre and shows superior details with
richer color than that paper. Moreover, it is considerably less
expensive. For example, Super A3 (11.7 X 16.5) Epson Premium Lustre
sells for $77.00 to $92.00 for 50 sheets. This InkJetArt paper in
13X19" is $55.00 (!).
The more I use the 2200, the more I am impressed with it. It really
is a breakthrough, IMHO.
