I've 'successfully' managed to extract a stripped head screw by ever so
lightly tapping a torx head driver into the stripped head and then backing
it out.  Have to have pretty soft head material on the screw, but if it's
stripped, it probably is.  Again, care and very light 'tapping' as opposed
to pounding. 

Don't envy your predicament.
