Thanks for the info:

Is the 3.5-4.5 harder to come by...everything on Eb*y is 3.5-4.8 or F4?

For what I am going to use the lenses for..I should be OK for now.

Now if I could just swing that 8mm fisheye!! 8-))

The 3.5-4.5 Oly made one has always had a lot of plastic in it. It is
nevertheless a wonderful lens. It looks and handles like a true Zuiko.
The Cosina made 3.5-4.8 is 14mm or 27% longer. so has quite a different
look. Other than length, these 2 lenses are very similar in size and
weight, but the 4.5 has 9 elements and a good rep while the 4.8 has 7
elements and a poorish rep.

The f3.6 and f4 versions are bigger and heavier than the other 2, but
are roughly equivalent to each other in all specs except number of
elements. The 3.6 generally is considered the best of all the 35-70s for
optical performance. Its other big advantage with the correct, slip-on
hood, is that the hood coverage adjusts to the angel of view as it
zooms, a very rare and desireable zoom characteristic.
