Leaving a 2n on overnight will not drain the batteries.
I've left my 2n on for around a week before realizing it was turned on;
the batteries lasted a few more months. My guess is you have a short
circuit somewhere.

left it on at some point so I bought another battery and made sure that

didn't leave it on and it was dead the next morning. The battery
draining
overnight without being left on battery is probably not good. Is this an
expensive repair?
