That may well be a difference, as the ability to clear memory with the 
meter off is a difference between the 4 and 4T(i). It is certainly true 
of 2 OM-4 bodies with new circuits that I just tried that clearing 
memory turns on the meter. The more fully documented '30 second' test 
and further info about 4 series circuits is here.

see, the memory clearing is on the list, but that the meter turns on is 
not addressed.
