This was an interesting tidbit that I just found out.

I did the following shot today with the E-1 and the 90/2 Zuiko Macro:

The original shot was done via a .JPG format, which limits the bandwidth of the 
final image, as it's already clipped to 8 bits/pixel.

Well, when I upped the saturation about 15 ticks in PS, look at the difference 
between the original image and the one that's had the saturation notched up:

I was very surprised at the difference.  I did the same experiment with a 
16-bit file that was converted from an .ORF Olympus RAW file, and the 16-bit 
file was much more tolerable of saturation changes without exibiting banding.

Notch up ONE for RAW workflow.
