We need a bit of help on the diagnosis, Keith. 

What makes you say they are out of sync?  
Is part of the photo completely unexposed with the rest properly exposed?
That would point to the camera shutter speed being higher than 1/60s.
Is none of the photo exposed at all? Might be a shutter fault
Is the photo severely underexposed? Might be a flash fault
Are non-flash photos properly exposed?

Etc etc, you see the point.

What a nice place to have an office.  I don't (just) mean Edinburgh, I mean
Rose Street, and I suspect there are a number of us here who know for what
Rose Street is renowned.
