Yes, but how many REALLY sold at full list? I'd say very few. The competition 
has been and certainly still is very tough in the camera business. Some 
stores claim to have sold cameras at around $15 to $20 profit per body. Can't 
recall who said that, but it was around 4 or 5 years ago. That's why they 
remove 
the batteries, strap, etc, and then offer them back to you for a "deal" at $15 
each.  

That $1200 figurefor the 4T (for 1990) seems awfully high...
