Stage fright in an interesting thing and many famous performers suffer
greatly from it. To excel, they learn to manage it and doing so may be good
for young performers. Some people are limited in business because of the
fear of speaking to large groups. Forcing themselves through something like
Toastmasters can be helpful. This also relates to photography, especially if
you decide to do it for pay. Then the pressure to perform becomes very real.
There have been lots of discussions on this forum about wedding photography
which can be a real gut-wrencher. With kids, parents always must be
concerned with performance trauma that isn't readily apparent. Kids have
been known to take their lives over this kind of thing. /jmac

Great shot! But to the worried Dad, there is no getting away from each
child's own personality. It maybe something the daughter really wants
to do but still faces the stage fright just before performance time. I
have a 20 year old daughter who was only asked to do the best she could
at anything she pursued. There is still no way I have figured to
prevent her anxiety before any performance or test. She still performs
well and gets through it.
