Nice shot, John. The wings look like they're made of that glow stick stuff!
Cool. Brood X is not an annual event. These have got to be some horny bugs
after 17 years! These guys just started and will be gone in 6 weeks. They
only last about 4 weeks but there's a 2 week evacuation period, supposedly
to ensure their survival. We do expect a huge turnout, but I think I'm in a
fringe area. Midway between Baltimore and Washington I hear there are some
high concentrations. Really wreak havoc with outdoor events. The kids have a
great time with them, catching them, throwing them and whatever else kids
do... Can you imagine an outdoor wedding with these things swarming?
