Richard,

Except for finishing off the dwindling stock of KR64 and the occasional roll of
Velvia, Provia 100F and 400F are pretty much all I have shot for the last
several years. Right now, there are over 60 rolls of 35mm 100F and 20 rolls of
35mm 400F in the beer/wine/Coke/film fridge. There are probably about that
many 120 rolls of each, too. I swear by the stuff!

But at 5400dpi, it's still got grain. I believe if you scan at this resolution
and you don't see some grain at extreme magnifiacation, your scanner is not
focusing correctly. That's one of the things I like most about the Minolta --
manual focusing. It nearly always seems to produce sharper, more detailed
scans than depending on the autofocus. But ain't that the way it always is
with any kind of autofocus anything anyway?

Everybody has a photographic
memory. Some people just don't
have any film.
