Hi there Wim,

I have used a Vivitar SL-1 Slave trigger. As you mention it goes under the hot 
shoe. I think that my one has a tripod screw hole in the base. You can turn it 
to face forwards or backwards depending on the location of the trigger flash. I 
think it has a PC cord out on it too for other older flashes or multiple units 
off the same trigger. 

xBay has them for $25 ish but I bet with patience you will get one for less.

Obviously you will lose TTl control of the flash but I guess you knew that 
already. If you want multi TTL flash control there are options for corded 
setups with the T32 and T20.
