I must admit, the best smoker I ever had was made from an oil drum, that I 
had customized a little with a few concrete pavers to get the fire off the 
bottom of the drum, create ventilation, retain heat and provide a place for me 
to 
put a pan of water.  Paid about $40 for it at Academy surplus and it cooked 
many a great brisket.  The one I have now is an up town version made out of 
1/4" 
steel plate complete with a fire box at one end and smoker at the other.  Cost 
about what a good OM 4T would run you.  I haven't been able to replicate the 
results with a brisket yet.  That maybe because it never held toxic chemicals 
in an earlier life. Still not gonna use no damn flower pots. {{8^) Bill Barber
