Never believe anything your father-in-law says, and always read the label.

Aforesaid FiL has bought a non-Olympus didge, which my beloved will be
using on holiday in Madeira. I have been playing with this little didge
for a couple of days.

The batteries finally gave out. I recharged them overnight.

FiL arrived today, saying he thought his charger was faulty. He put the
batteries that came with the camera in there, but the flashing red led
came on. Looked it up. Faulty batteries, it said. Tried a few things.
Nothing worked.

So he brought it to me. Showed me the flashing light. I put the batteries
in my charger. Seemed fine. Left them on this afternoon to charge,
thinking I would run the battery tester over them later.

So I went to get them, only to find goo leaking all over the place,
including me and my jeans, and the carpet.

Fiona came home, and pinpointed the problem immediately. Not rechargeable.
Alkalines. Duh!

I vaguely remember a faint popping sound this afternoon. Just ignored it...

I am, as they say here, a tumshie (turnip).

Don't You Believe It!!!

D.
