I have put up a few pictures with reds or near reds taken with the C5050.
The first 9 pics are with the C5050, and the others are with OM2s/Vivitar
Series 1 90/2.5 and slide film.

Actually, the peonies are quite close in color. The nasturtiums, taken this
rainy afternoon, are quite a bit off, especially the third one, which is
almost laughable. I picked the actual flowers and have them sitting beside
my computer screen for comparison. The fuschias look way too red and waxy
IMO, unlike the ones with film, which are quite accurate. The red path in
Saint John, NB, shot a couple days ago, is not the right shade of red.
Given that the film was Kodaks extra color, which some don't like, I think
it is pretty tame compared to the way the Olympus digital renders reds.
The C5050 is a nice toy, but not a serious camera if you're trying to
capture reds.

As to the D100 debate, by coincidence I was in to our local Kodak photo
store today. The new owner was commenting how she is trying to switch to
digital, and cannot get good results at all. I asked her what she was using,
and she brought out her D100 to show me. Quite a chunk of camera! But she
was not a satisfied customer, I take it. She said she had a wedding to shoot
tomorrow, and would be using her Nik*n and Bron*ca film cameras.

On another note, she sold me 5 rolls of Kodak E100VS 120 for $1 Cdn. per
roll (= about 75 cents US), expired late 2003. Shooting 120 slide film will
be a new experience for me. She had more of it, but I have no 6x6 projector.
Anyone got a suggestion of what is a reasonable priced 6x6 projector to look
for?

Wayne
