Besides the exposure, I'm a little disappointed on the histogram of D100,
starting from E-10 to 10D to E-1, I seldom seen the shadow cutoff like that
(of course I'm talking about similar underexposed one). Even my 5050 looks
better that than, it could be N*kon style, the CP5000 I once own was the
same, you need very accurate exposure otherwise the highlight and shadow are
easily cutoff.
To me shadow detail is the most important parameter in selecting DC, I can
get much better D-range (talking about capture range) and much easier to
adjust image with a DC that is having good shadow details.

Put them in PS and do a level adjustment you will see the different.
Especially the E-10 shot which shown excellent linearity, the color
does not shift even in this extreme under exposed case.
