The barrels are held in position by screws ringed by plastic/nylon rollers.
The screws attach to an inner barrel while the roller slides through an
opening in one or more outer barrels.

When there's too much "slop" (movement or wobble), it's likely due to
one of two problems: either the nylon rollers are damaged or the screws
have worked loose.  In either case, the longer the problem is ignored, the
greater chance the barrels will be permanently damaged.
