Hi Mike,

Yes I think you're right, at least for the reason I wrote in reply to Moose.
If you could understand the mail I sent you privately a few days ago, then I
managed to tell my personal adventure in almost correct English. So I am
copying it below, with little corrections.

Thanks for your kind wishes.

Fernando.
-----------

There are a couple of things of my photographic life that are worth telling.
Hope my English is up to it.

We are in our winter holiday season now, and my 10 year old daughter wanted
to visit the countryside of the departamento de Lavalleja, some 200 Km away
from Mvd. We have our big mountains there, about 300 to 500 meters above sea
level. Last weekend was chilling cold, unusually cold, but we headed there
on Friday. On Saturday it was even colder but sunny and decided to visit a
river fall in the middle of the rocky hills, named Salto del Penitente. It
is a really beautiful place, and the Arroyo del Penitente was running
strongly a great amount of crystalline water. It has two falls, the first
one is about 30 or maybe 50 meters and is followed by a second small fall of
3 meters, down into a pond. Well, I enthusiastically went too close to the
rounded rocky border of the second fall, determined to take a beautiful
picture. I managed to do so but when moving back I slipped and plunged into
the fall, with my beloved OM-2, its winder and the 28/2.8 + Oly pol. I think
I sunk about 2 meters, while thinking that I was still aware and therefore
hadn't bumped my head, that I could move my legs and therefore could swim to
the surface. When breathed again, I realized I was alone. Nobody saw me
falling noone could help me climb any stone, which I finally could. Then my
daughter came back and run to tell my wife what had happened, but she didn't
believe her at first. With a little help I could climb up the slippery
rocks.
Camera was wet inside but not completely soaked when I opened it. It was not
bumped. I began trying to dry it by all possible means - paper first, winter
sunlight, hair drier, lamp light a few hours. Now it's working but shutter
fails occasionally on Auto. Lens is quite well, no water marks on glass and
snappy diaphragm, but I asked Bolívar to check it anyway. I'm planning to
send the body to John Hermanson, despite the cost. Any suggestion is
welcomed. Although I'm almost sure camera is dry, I suspect something may be
corroding inside; and have to make some time-consuming Customs forms before
sending, but I have my right leg with clay from top to bottom. Yes, my knee
suffered a twist and bump and I'll have to rest for three weeks at least.
Fortunately part of my work is done at home.
What fool things can a man of 44 do. But I'm alive to tell.
You can see the place here (thanks Carlos for the link !):

but this picture does no justice to the Salto del Penitente because it was
taken during summer, with little water running in the river and green
vegetation growing on the winter bare rocks.
It was taken by a wise photographer :-)

Second, is that [...]

That's all folks...
