Yes, a smiley emoticon is missing. I thought the sentence was ironic enough

You see, Uruguay is quite flat compared to other parts of South America,
we're taught at school its proper description should be "suavemente
ondulado" ('smoothly hilly' I'd translate this, if I'm allowed to use words

But if you happened to have travelled through the argentinian Patagonia, the
Pampa, and up north to Iguaçu you may know they're amazingly flat. Specially
when you cross the Uruguay river, coming from the río Paraná lands, then you
might notice our hills are like mountains :-)

This exercise is wonderful for your cardiovascular health, but knees suffer
and do get worn. I'd say one must weigh less than 80 Kg to walk uphill 200
meters once or twice a day everyday to keep off stressing knees too much.
Where exactly do you live? Think I remember you told some time ago but can't
recall now.

Thanks again. The internal lateral ligament of the knee broke, and it seems
the crossed ligament too. If you have some anatomy book nearby (I like that
old french anatomy book written by Testut) take a look at it. You'll see
that it's quite a ligament !! :-)
