I used to have trouble every time I visited my parents for school 
holidays in India, whether in Calcutta or Delhi.  Once, in Calcutta, I 
had an attack of bacillary dysentery, probably owing to the fact that 
our cook had used next door's ice – ice which had not been through the 
process you describe.
