Heat is the best way to soften epoxy for removal.  Epoxy is quite resitant to 
chemicals; anything that will attack it will likely do more harm to the metal.  
You may be able to apply localized heating to the epoxy with a soldering iron 
or miniature butane torch, then scrape the softened epoxy away with a suitable 
tool.
