And I went to my lab, Icon in Artarmon, NSW on Tuesday to Pick up some
Velvia and Sensia shots. The bloke there said that while things were quiet
for a while they're picking up now as the pro's are going back to film
particularly in MF. This lab on Sydney's north side would cater mainly to
the advertising crowd (it's also cheaper than going the normal retail route
for processing and their quality is excellent).

Stopped off at the lab to pick up several rolls of Velvia. Later
spent quality time at a camera store. I learned a few things.
First of all, the pro lab is processing a record amount of E6
these days. Two reasons: Fewer quality labs processing E6
anymore and more advertisers are DEMANDING film.
Say what? You've got to be kidding?
Nope. Seems that the "quality" of digital capture isn't quite
up to snuff. Nor is the color. Hmm. Those medium format and
4x5 shooters are experiencing an increase in business. "We
shouldn't HAVE to sharpen an image because the lens wasn't good
enough or the format too small".
Ok, several things at play: The APS sized sensors may be good
at resolution, but the lenses aren't. A larger capture
area--even with less sharp lenses will usually be better. The
larger formats--especially 4x5 give perspective control and
better bokeh. One advertising agency forbids the photographers
from using zoom lenses!
And probably the biggest factor: The photographers are doing a
better job getting it right during the shoot when using film.
This attitude of "we'll fix it in post" isn't flying.
And we all thought that film was doomed!
Oh, and my E6 that I picked up? You'll see it soon enough on my
website which has been recently co-opted by the A1.
