I am personally aquainted with, and am trying to help, a young woman with two
children, ages 4 and 7, whose husband was killed in an accident two years ago.
He was a construction worker and they lived paycheck to paycheck and couldn't
afford life insurance. So, after going into debt to bury him, applying for and
receiving social security benefits of a whopping $1800 per month, she went to
work as a waitress at IHOP. Her child care expenses are just about equal to
her mininum wage pay and tips, even when she works seven days a week,
occasionally doing a double shift. I'm sure they'll have another merry
Christmas, maybe even with a cute little digital camera under the tree with
which to record their joy. It won't be an E-1, but it'll be the only digital
camera I buy this year.

Exactly how much tax would you and Dubya like her to pay?
