Especially so for the F280, which is a pretty simple flat panel curved to
match the front of the flash - unlike the T32 design which has specially
angled grooves to fit into the frame, and a couple of ribs which may well
help to throw light out wider than normal.

Of course the milk container version wouldn't have the fancy hard plastic
box, foam liner etc.

I know I've described it before, but a simple solution for any flash is a
strip of plastic milk container and either velcro or sticky foam tape on the
ends, which are secured to the sides of the flash, just behind the flash
tube.
Make the plastic as 'high' as the flash tube's height and allow it to bow
out, don't keep it pressed tightly over the flash tube. This way, it stays
cool, and also allows some of the flash to 'leak' out, but not hit the
subject directly.

Delightful understatement Bill.

At that price, perhaps a piece of paper would be a suitable substitute?
