I think Mark is referring to mirrors in the macro stand light path, not in
the camera. Seems to me that they *would* polarize the light, in just the
same way as the semi-silvered mirrors in OM-3 and -4 do, requiring the use
of circular polarizers on those cameras. 

Something very odd about Mark's images.

Don't the half-silvered mirrors move away during exposure?  Thus they might
affect the exposure indicated pre-shooting, but not color/image quality.

Perhaps the color/image aberrations are related to the shield(s) over the
E1's array.  I suspect there's some plastic in there somewhere.
