Nobody had explicitly complained - what I had in mind was a notional
rhetorical complaint (maybe?).  But my comment was not directed at you (or
anybody else) as far as I am concerned.

I'm not sure who of us was complaining. Certainly not I. Why the defence
since there was no accusation?
