Piers, I didn't know there was a micro tools catalog. I am not much of a
mechanic. My last attempt at taking something apart and "fixing" it was a
Makita 14.4 drill. My wife was out of town and I didn't have anything to
do, so I took it apart. I was progressing nicely, then a gear fell out,
then another, then another. So the drill went to the service center in a
bag! "It must be defective, it just fell apart."
If I understand your reply, you are saying there is no mechanical adjustment
in the lens and dampening would depend on lubrication.

I e-mailed Iwert about this one and he suggested this question for the
group. I purchased the 85mm f2 from Iwert a while back and it has the best
focus dampening feel of any my Zuikos. It is so smooth. Not tight, not
lose. My 21mm f3.5 that was CLAed by John is close. I wish my 50mm f2 and
28mm f2 has the same dampening. They are much tighter. Can this be
adjusted?
