Andrew - Original model Pen in good shape probably $25 to $60 or so. They're
not that rare, I think they sold in the hundreds of thousands. Note that
there are many variations, and most are 'automatic' with a selenium light
meter. Many are still functioning after all these years, and they are simple
and therefore easy to repair and CLA and should not be too expensive if such
work is required -- which is likely on a 40+ year old camera. In fact, I'd
figure on it in advance. Because there are a lot of these Pens around you
can be patient and wait for your price IMO. I personally like the Pen D and
D2 and D3, although only the D has a battery-less meter, the others require
the old mercury batterys. The D series have a faster lens, and manual
shutter and aperture which the more commonly found EE series lacks. For just
taking general pictures I'd still suggest a clean XA instead, or if you just
want ultimate convenience a Stylus Epic. Who knows, in 40 years even that
might be a 'collectible' - or a dust gathering shelf bunny with no film
available... :-(
