I am surprised. I'd always consdiered the 3 to be a 1N with slightly
altered mechanicals, and the little needle replaced by electronic spot
metering. Since there is no automatic link whatsoever between shutter
speed/aperture and the metering system, I can't see why the flash would
be any different to that on the 1N.

I can see that the 3Ti OTF flash wouldn't work, but I can't see why the
manual/normal auto 3/3Ti flash wouldn't be fine. After all, AIUI all the
flash sync does is to short the contacts.
