I do love B&W and have been away from it for a while, but I am anxious
to get back into it.

The 2200 sounds like a winner.

I also have been reading a lot lately about special black and white inks
for the 1270 from the Paul Roark site and from www.inksupply.com anyone
have any experience with that route?

Go for it. It's about as close as you'll get to "real" color prints
that will last more than a couple of years not kept in the dark. Plus,
if you intend to do any B&W, the 2200 can make prints so close to
darkroom-quality that you'll swear you smell Dektol and your fingers may
turn yellow. Just use the right ink and paper.
