Not a problem if you are handy, have right tools and have read practical
trick of
professionals from the list.
You can't find instructions usefull for amateur in service manuals, cause
it's tool
for experienced serviceman.
When i was troubleshooting my OM-4 i nearly damaged one part during top
cover
removing because i didn't have read (for amateur) key important practical
tricks.
When I discovered where was the problem i put my head under a cold shower
to supress released emotions.
But than the problem was found and solved - one released screw doing an
electrical
connection which seems to be trivial thing but from the view of Olympus
Czech republic
unreparable fault and from the view of Olympus Germany all the electronics
had to be replaced.
Poor OM-4 was so good friend that she didn't leave me (and this world) even
when 15 Volts
came at her battery terminals (3 V nominal voltage) for 1 second as unwanted
effect of one my
experiment.
Now i realize it can sound strange to use feminine gender, no I'm really not
like
that guy from Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket who calls his rifle Charlene, but
it comes from Czech language,
where OM-1,2,....is naturally spoken in feminine gender and it fits to my
somehow
personal relation probably common in this felowship.
