I believe most of the IAF sptifires that were recovered in the 80s spend 
many years as decoys around Indian aifields. A number of those aircraft 
have been restored to flying condition.

IIRC, the IAF still has a MkVIIIe (NH631), which flew in up until the 
late 80s. It belongs to the Vintage Aircraft Flight of the IAF's Museum. 
It is almost certianly no longer airworthy.
