The equipment is a big part of the process which in itself can bring
enjoyment. IRRC there were a couple brothers on the east coast (Wheeler?) in
the late 70's and early 80's that sold furniture they made using hand tools.
It was very expensive and was in at least one store in California. For
awhile they were fairly well known. I believe they were trained at MIT for a
different vocation  ;-)   

Quick sanity/memory check: It looks like www.EldredWheeler.com is alive but
there is no mention of the background of the founders.

Kodak doesn't seem to show signs of anyone who wants to stick to film if
it's a shrinking market. The people calling the shots seem happy to walk
away from their past. Hopefully Fuji will keep the OM's in consumables for a
couple more decades.
