[OM] The Decision [was] Decisions, Decisions; Which Two Should I Send?

Decided to do something this morning as an experiment. Only stipulation
was submission of a "4x6" but it didn't specify how one was to create a
print that size. After Chuck's correct observation that Reflections #1 was
difficult to look at for long, but alluring nevertheles . . .

I took this one:

and made this one from it (and a bit easier on the eyes):

Had a 5x7 glossy made at a local 1-hour this morning (the guy there is one
I trust), took it home and cropped it down to 4x6, thus complying with
their required print size. There was no prohibition about cropping. After
looking at the improvement I decided to submit the revised one . . .
strategy being providing something with some imagination and inventiveness
in using the reflection.

The other one submitted should be no surprise. It had general acclaim from
the list and it remained the most compelling with highest visual impact to
me as I kept laying out the prints on the table in different layouts and
looking at them:

I came very close to submitting The Bench instead of (revised) Reflections
#1 . . . as I like it in spite of the very bright patch of concrete hot
spot. It came down to which one required the most original thinking on the
part of the photographer to visualize it. BTW, the patch of purple
wildflowers in the reflection was fairly small. The reflection contains
very nearly all, if not all of them (the rest of the bank in that location
being nondescript, green leafy vegetable matter).

Thanks for all the critical remarks, opines, and suggestions,
-- John Lind
