I don't think I have ever noticed a speck in one of my lenses showing up 
on a print.  However, I have a chip on the rear element of  the lens in 
my graflex press camera which always left a bright spot, until I filled 
it in with black modeling paint.  It was the light flaring in the chip 
that showed.
