I believe that the new, replacement body(s) is coming very soon. The kit
was their big seller, and they won't replace the 14-54 with the 14-45 as
the mainstream kit, IMO.
September seems to be the time for "the announcement".

Wait, are you saying the kit is discontinued or that the body is
discontinued? Sounds to me like signs that they're either about to
introduce a new body or a new lens. Either that or maybe they have too
many 14-45's kicking around and want to unload them.
