You know, right after I typed it, I started remembering the fact
that my washers do slush up when it's really cold. The
headlight washers are pretty slick--gotta push them back down
when you get home, though.

I think I'll really enjoy the heated seats. Leather seats can
be obscenely cold in the winter. Talk about thermally induced
sterility.

What got my attention when researching the A4 was all of the
temperature and speed sensing automated features. The mirrors
and washers automatically start heating up below a certain
temperature. And the active traction control is a very
interesting twist on 4WD technology. This Quattro 4WD system
uses the Torsen center differential for front/rear slippage (no
viscious couplings) and traction control (wheel specific
braking) for left/right grip. With this technology, up to
something like 80% of the power can be applied to a single wheel
with the traction. Even my Jeeps won't do that.

The cruise control is on the fritz, of course. It wouldn't be an
Audi if it worked right. The dealer isn't happy about the fact
I got that repair work covered in the purchase agreement. Oh,
and the lower door trim. But that probably won't make up for
the things I didn't find. However, knowing that, I didn't
hesitate to buy the 2-year, 24k-mile warranty. I'm sure it'll
pay of a couple times over--especially if the front end needs
any more work.

Anybody know where I can find published power/torque charts for
the Audis online? Also, what octane gas would you normally use?
95 seems a bit crazy. I typically have tanked up on 89 with
10% ethanol (it's grown here). I tankful of that seems to run
just fine, but I have no point of comparison.

Oh, to the anti-offtopic folks, sorry about the offtopic
discussion, but I trust the input of people here far more than
out on use(less)net.
