Firstly, my sincere commiserations to those who have suffered in the
aftermath of Katrina. It's hard to believe some of the scenes on UK
television in the last few days, and the reality must be a thousand times
worse.
Two queries if I may. One is that about 20 years ago I bought a Hakuba
aluminium case for storage and transit of my OM bits and pieces. The
collection has expanded such that something similar is required in addition,
but Hakuba seems not to be in that market any more and the quality of what's
on offer in the local camera shops seems to vary from indifferent to
dreadful. Can anyone suggest a possible UK source for something suitable?
Secondly, I'm wondering whether anyone's ever done comparisons between
Olympus filters and anyone else's filters? I was rather surprised recently
to see the prices fetched by Olympus-branded Skylight filters on eBay, and
even more surprised to see the prices charged for modern items from the
likes of K + R. Is a ho-hum filter at half the price from Jessops that much
worse?
